When Nutri-Genetix's (NGX) business started growing, the limitation of their existing backend IT system started hurting them.
They were using multiple third-party apps like Flits, Shogun, Trustpilot, etc. As you may know, users dance to multiple servers on websites that use third-party apps. As a result, the website slowed down.
To overcome this challenge, NGX needed a Shopify Liquid customization expert. Expert being the keyword.
When they came to us, our tech lead, Devender Nath Maurya spent hours on calls with Hugo Jones , NGX COO, to thoroughly understand the requirement. Then he helped them hire Gopal Mall.
It was as if Gopal, a Shopify Liquid customization expert, was made in a lab to fulfill the client's requirement. Like a mutant.
Gopal customized Shopify Liquid using Ajax and jQuery for them. The project lasted 11 months, during which he customized the order page, product page, and entire account sections.
He did Mailchimp API integration, Recharge API integration, customized the Shopify API, and much more.
18 months later, NGX has grown 2x in size, and they still use the tech developed by Gopal, with little to no modification.

Their idea is high-tech, and their product is unique, so the IT infrastructure also needed to be cutting edge. And they trusted VE to deliver it.
Challenges
The company was growing rapidly, but the increasing traffic slowed down the most important pages of their website, like the order customization page, account page, product page, etc. This was a result of an inadequate eCommerce IT system.
Flits for customer account pages, Trustpilot to display ratings, and Shogun for page building.
Apps would gather information from the Shopify server, process the information based on Shopify requests, and then send the response to the Nutri-Genetix website.
This back and forth slowed down the website,and the bounce rate increased.
Solutions & Resources
They hired Gopal, our top Shopify customization expert.
His main job was to cut the user's dance. Meaning, to create a website free from 3rd third party apps - by customizing all the features on their server.
Gopal custom developed Flits' features using JavaScript, Ajax, and Liquid code. He custom-made sections like the profile feature, order and reorder feature, order listing feature, profile update feature, registration, and more.
Another speed-downer. But it was not easy to save precious milliseconds wasted by Trustpilot. The rating company does not give access to its database, and Gopal could not find a way to overwrite its features within the given time frame.
But the adamant developer found a way out of this tricky situation. He talked to the Trustpilot support and found a way to compress the code. As a result, the loading speed significantly decreased.
The developer also customized all the features of the Shogun Page Builder, and Shogun Frontend which NGX used. Like drag & drop features, frontend product page editor, and so on.
He used Recharge Subscriptions and customized it as per the requirement & suggested documentation.
Results
The website speed improved by 2 seconds per click.
Earlier, their website had to depend on external apps to use the necessary features for creating an interactive website.
As a result of our 11-month partnership, they now have a self-sufficient website.
