some essential modifications
Watch List Remodeling
Waverly wanted to enable users to add up to 20 picks per
each custom watch list. This modification facilitated:
- better tracking of industry trends,
- analytical comparison of similar stocks (in the same industry),
- informed decision-making when buying, holding, or selling stocks.

Customized News Section
The second modification enabled a customized News
section with the introduction of 4 filters:

Taking complex problems…

App development in a foreign language
While communication with the clients was easy enough through English, working on an app entirely in Korean was a challenge.

Working around an unfamiliar platform
Waverly enabled login through KakaoTalk only, limiting its usage
for users not using the platform.

Unfamiliarity with new elements
Despite being very familiar with React Native, Daya was faced with a challenge when trying to insert an analytical graph in the “Portfolio” section.

Older version of Firebase
The original app by Waverly used an older version of Firebase
integration, leading to issues such as the lack of app
notifications.
…and simplifying them!

App development in a foreign language
With Google Translate and Naver Papago as trusted allies, Daya went ahead with decoding the issue and giving our clients the results they wanted.

Working around an unfamiliar platform
Daya made the app more accessible to other users by also allowing login through Gmail accounts.

Unfamiliarity with new elements
Daya had to dive deeper into the technicalities of React Native to embed a perfectly interactive half doughnut chart for the Portfolio section!

Older version of Firebase
Downgrading the app to comply with the previous version of Firebase, along with a few related iOS bug fixes, helped mitigate issues arising from the difference in versions.
Getting on the same page
as the client. Technically.

Along with facilitating cross-platform implementation, having React Native as the base framework also helped make the Portfolio section visually engaging and more informative.

Assisting React Native in the cross-platform nature of the app, MongoDB also played a crucial role in making sure that the app loads faster and works equally smoothly across all operating systems.

This NoSQL document database helped immensely to make the app scalable and high performance. It also had the added benefit of making the development process effortless.

Along with MongoDB and Firestore, NodeJS helped develop a reliable backend wireframe. This primarily helped enhance user experience by facilitating real-time updation of stock prices.
It was all worth it!
A happy ending to an eventful project
