VE Became Netatech’s AgriTech R&D Center

To meet this mission, VE functioned as Netatech’s extended R&D arm—engineering smart irrigation and crop monitoring solutions purpose-built for real farms and high-frequency research labs.

Built by VE's Employee of the Year 2024 

Ashwani (Sr. Embedded Developer) built both platforms—earning VE’s highest recognition for developing smart farming system for NetaTech, backed by hydroponic scientists from Israel and NTU Singapore.

The Project

Singapore’s Food Security Mission needed smart farming, because manual irrigation and plant monitoring were holding back the country’s ability to grow more food locally.

Netatech saw both a challenge and a calling. They chose to lead by bringing embedded systems and robotics into everyday farming—because doing good business and doing the right thing didn’t have to be separate goals. In fact, in this case, they were the same.

Smart farming means fixing the two biggest blockers to local food production: In the field, static watering schedules led to zero control over water usage. In hydroponic labs, plant health was still being monitored manually, making high-frequency monitoring nearly impossible.

Netatech needed real-time systems that could adapt and operate with near-zero supervision.

To solve Singapore’s most persistent AgriTech challenges, Netatech needed more than just extra hands—they required an R&D partner with a deep technical range. That’s where VE stepped in.

From system architecture to device integration and cloud optimization, VE worked as an extension of Netatech’s core team, remotely but tightly aligned. Our senior developer, Ashwani, built two purpose-built platforms — Neta and iSurf —to meet the growing demand for intelligent, resilient farming systems.

Together, these systems form the foundation of Netatech’s approach to regenerative agriculture—scalable and AI-powered.

Smart Irrigation With Embedded IoT

Traditional irrigation systems rely on guesswork and offer little visibility, especially in remote or multi-zone environments. Netatech needed a smarter way to manage distributed irrigation at scale. Static watering schedules couldn't respond to rainfall. Faults like leaks or no-flow conditions went undetected for too long. And managing multiple zones across projects was cumbersome without a central, real-time interface.

iNeta addresses all of this by delivering intelligent irrigation management that adapts, alerts, and optimizes water use in real time—without human micromanagement.
